1 cup bread cubes
2 tbsp melted butter
1 egg slightly beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 cups scalded milk
1/2 cup raisins

Combine sugar, salt, vanilla, butter, cinnamon and egg. add milk, bread, raisins and mix thoroughly
Pour into buttered baking dish-put dish into pan of water
Bake @ 350 degrees about 1 hour or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean

Sauce for pudding:
1/4 cup butter
2 tbsp flour
3 tbsp sugar
1 1/4 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp nutmeg
dash salt
mix flour, sugar and nutmeg. stir into water, addd butter and vanilla.
serve warm or cold
