Filling -
2 boxes of dates - chopped
2 cups raisins
1 cup chopped nuts
1 1/2 cup H2O

Dough -
2 cups Sugar
1 cup lard or butter
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
6 cups flour
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Filling - Add & mix dates, raisins, nuts, & water in a saucepan. Simmer until soft then add sugar and cool.
Dough - Cream together sugar and butter, then add sour cream and mix. Add dry ingredients and mix together. Chill at least 2 hours. Roll out and cut into circle's. (Mom always used an old aluminum can) Put a spoonful of filling into middle of circle and cover with another circle of dough. Seal edges. May use your fingers dipped in milk.
Bake at 350º for 10 minutes.
