Just before my 17th birthday we attended a revival at Morris Chapel, TN. Bro. A.D.Gurley was the preacher. I went to the altar and was converted. Bro. Gurley pastored a church in Corinth, MS so he asked the converts to go to his church to be baptized in the baptistry. It was the 1st Sunday night in December when we were to go. Mother, Daddy and I and a friend went to Corinth, MS on December 7. When we got there everybody was crying and very disturbed. Then we found out Pearl Harbor had been bombed. (we did not have the radio on that day and did not know about it) It was misting rain all day. The next day, December 8, 1941, was the beginning of World War II.
