My father worked in the coal mines in Illinois. When the mines shut down we had to move back to Tennessee near my grandparents. Daddy tried farming a few years but he was not a farmer. Then he began to do carpenter work and built several houses. The year I started to high school we moved to Chester County and built and operated a grocery store for several years.
