1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter
1 can sliced pineapple

Directions:
Directions:
Cream 1/2 cup butter, sugar and eggs, mix well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add vanilla and water. Alternately add dry and liquid ingredients to cream, beat well. Grease a 8x12 baking pan. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 cup brown sugar and dot with the 4 tablespoons of butter. Arrange 6 slices drained pineapples on sugar and place cherries in the center of each. Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake in a 350º oven for about 45-50 minutes. When cake is done turn our immediately onto a large plate or platter.
