1/2 cup shortening
1 egg yolk
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Roll into little balls. Take the extra egg white and beat until fluffy. Dip balls into the egg white and roll in crushed nuts. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 5 minutes at 375º. Press thumb into each one and bake 8 minutes more. When cool frost prints with powdered sugar frosting.
