1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 cup coconut
5 regular size Hershey bars

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter until creamy. Add sugars and beat until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Add to creamed mixture, a little at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in oats and coconut.
Shape dough into small balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Bake in 350º oven for 12-15 minutes. Remove from oven and place one square of chocolate on cookie just a minute before removing from oven. Makes 4 dozen.
