2 1/2 c. flour
1 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 T. white sugar
1/2 c. cold butter cut into small pieces
3/4 c. milk
1 egg lightly beaten
Topping- 1 egg lightly beaten with 1 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Lightly grease pan. In a large mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk, and slightly beaten egg and stir until combined. The texture should be sticky and moist. Place mixture on a lightly floured surface. Dust hands with flour and knead dough gently until it comes together and is a smooth dough. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out biscuits. Brush tops with beaten egg and milk and bake for 10-15 minutes.
