2-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
½ cup cocoa
¼ tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
1-½ cups sugar
1-¼ tsps. vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup water
½ cup drained, chopped sauerkraut

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Cream shortening with sugar until light and fluffy; blend in vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add dry ingredients alternately with water, beating until smooth after each addition. Add sauerkraut and mix thoroughly. Pour into well greased 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Spread with cream cheese icing.

Cream Cheese Icing

1 pound box powdered sugar
½ stick margarine
8 ounce pkg. cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix until light and fluffy. (May need to add a little bit of milk.)
