1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup white flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 C oatmeal (Instant OK or traditional)
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and brown sugar, add egg, peanut butter, mix. Add soda, salt, vanilla, mix again. Add all flours and dry ingredients, mix again. Dough will be stiff. Spoon into a 9x12 pan, bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool before cutting into bars.

Recipe from Pauline Godsey, December 1981. It tastes like an energy bar and is high in fiber, almost good for you! You can put the oatmeal in the blender to break it down if you want it finer.
