4 egg whites, pinch of salt, 1 cup supar, 1 tsp. vinegar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1 T. cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until very stiff, add salt, gradually beat in sugar, add vinegar and vanilla, beat until stiff. Sift cornstarch into meringue, fold in lightly. Grease heavy glass dish or cookie pan. Spread meringue in a round 3" high mound. Preheat oven to 400º, set at 250º, bake for 11/2 hrs. Serve with whipped cream, strawberries, banana or what ever fruit you like. You may double this recipe.

This is Brent's favorite dessert that he had when he was serving a mission in Australia with his family when his father was called as Mission President. He asked me to learn how to make it when we were first married.
