2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup poppy seeds
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 stick butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease muffin tin or line with paper cups.

Heat milk to scalding. Pour over poppy seeds and set aside to cool.

In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

In another large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in almond extract and cooled milk mixture.

Fold in dry ingredients and stir until just blended.

Divide among muffin cups.

Bake about 20 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
