cup butter
cup sugar
cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
tsp vanilla
1 1/8 cup flour
tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips

You do not need to preheat the oven.
Melt butter completely in a medium glass bowl.
Add sugars. Mix with a wire whisk by hand until completely combined. Or a hand mixer on medium speed.
Add vanilla. Continue mixing by hand until combined.
Add baking soda, salt, keep mixing.
Add egg, mix by hand until combined.
Add flour, again mix by hand.
Add chocolate chips mix together with spoon.
Place tbls drops of dough on cookie sheet, in a 350 degree oven.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes. They will look a little doughy in the center, but they are done.
Immediately transfer from the baking sheet to piece or parchment paper on the counter. DO NOT cool these on a wire rack.

These cookies come out best if you completely mix by hand.
