2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1/2 t. baking soda
3/4 c. orange juice
1 T. grated orange peel
2 T. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease 9x5 loaf pan. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir in orange juice, orange peel, shortening and egg. Blend well. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Spread evenly in loaf pan. Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on rack 15 minutes.
