3/4 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp.soda
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 cup strong coffee

Frosting:
1/4 c. Crisco shortening
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 box confectionery sugar
1/3 c. milk
dash of salt

Cookies:
Beat shortening, sugar, and eggs until creamy. Add dry ingredients alternating with coffee. Add lemon and drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375ºF.

Frosting:
Beat all ingredients with a mixer for 5 to 7 minutes. Apply frosting to cookies.
