6 fresh ripe tomatoes
2 onions, finely chopped
2 green peppers, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
¼ c red wine
Juice of 1 lemon
½ tsp cayenne
½ tsp dried basil (or 2 tsp chopped fresh)
½ tsp dried oregano (or 2 tsp chopped fresh)
½ tsp salt

Chop the tomatoes finely - you should have about 2½ cups or a nice, thick salsa. Mix all other ingredients into the chopped tomatoes. Taste and adjust the seasonings. Let the salsa sit for about 30 minutes for maximum flavor

Salsa is one of those foods that people would seldom buy in a jar if they knew how easy it is to make it from scratch.

This will keep in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
