1 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt


1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c. apples (peeled & chopped)


SAUCE:

3/4 c. sugar
2 T. flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 T. butter
1 c. water
Directions:
Directions:
Mix together dry ingredients.

Cream together butter, sugar, egg, and apples.

Add dry ingredients to creamed ingredients.

Bake at 350º in a greased 9 x9 dish for 20-30 minutes.

SAUCE:

On stovetop, mix dry ingredients, add butter, water, and vanilla. Boil together until mixture thickens.

Spoon on top of cake when serving pieces of cake.

I sometimes double the sauce recipe for extra "oomph".
