2 c flour
2 c sugar
1/2 c margarine
1/2 c Crisco
1/4 c cocoa
1/2 c buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp cinnamon

Frosting:
1/2 c margarine
3 1/2 tbsp cocoa
1 lb powdered sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
2/3 c chopped pecans
A little less than 1/3 c milk

Directions:
1. Sift flour and sugar into mixing bowl
2. Bring to a rapid boil the butter, Crisco, water, and cocoa
3. Pour hot mixture over the flour mixture and mix well
4. Combine remaining ingredients and add all at once to the batter; mix well
5. Pour into greased and floured pan; bake at 400º for 35-40 minutes

Frosting:
1. Melt margarine and cocoa
2. Add remaining ingredients; mix well
3. Spread on HOT cake

This recipe card is written in Kathy Rains' writing, and is attributed to "Gram Rains." I am not sure if that's Kathy, or Anne Rains, but I assume the latter.

The recipe card says that this can be frozen, though I cannot really think of a time when cake would last long enough to freeze it at our house.
