This is the original Tastee Restaurant sandwich. It's great for serving a crowd.l I cut the recipe in half and still have plenty.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Tastee Treat was a drive-in with car hops (a lot like Sonic is now). It was located in Fremont, on Bell St where Dr. Beach has his office now. If I remember right, the sandwiches cost a quarter. Tastee's was THE place to go if you were a teenager. Toward the end, the kids were driving through the parking lot and around the building so much that the older people didn't want to go there. A security guard was hired to try to stop some of the unnecessary traffic. (Plus, kids like to rev up their motors to show off for the others). Well, the kids decided that it wasn't right to have the guard there; so they started a "ban Tastees" campaign. About that time another "burger joint" opened up. It was called Gold Key and they sold hamburgers for 15 cents. They didn't have car hops, you had to go inside to order, but the price was right; and they didn't have a security guard! That was the start of the end for Tastee Treat Drive-In. Now, all that we have left are our memories. (Oh, and this recipe.)
