1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. molasses
2 T. vinegar
5 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2-3 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves

Mix together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, molasses and vinegar. Mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Add this mixture to the shortening mixture. Mix until it forms a dough.
Chill dough at least 3 hours. Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick.Cut with cutters and bake on greased baking sheet 5-6 min. at 375
