Angel Biscuits Recipe

1 pkg dry yeast
1/4 c warm water
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/8 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
1 c buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
dissolve the yeast in warm water and set aside. Mis the dry ingredients in the order given, cutting in the shortening as you normally do for biscuits or pie dough. Stir in the buttermilk and yeast mixture and blend thoroughly. The dough is ready to refrigerate. When its' time to make the biscuits, turn the dough out on a floured board and knead lightly. Roll out and cut with a biscuit cutter, placing them in a greased pan. Let the dough rise the slightly before baking in a 400º oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
