1 c. rye flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. molasses
1/3 c. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. lard (or shortening)
3 cups hot water.
2 envelopes yeast
1/2 cup water
white flour

Directions:
Directions:
Place rye flour, salt, molasses, brown sugar and shortening in mixing bowl. Pour over this 3 cups hot water. Cool.
In small bowl add yeast to 1/2 cup water. After this is dissolved, put in mixing bowl with other ingredients. Add enough white flour for a stiff dough. Knead. Let rise twice before forming into loaves. Let rise again.
Bake 45 minutes at 350º.
