2 lb. chuck or bottom round (cut in 2" pcs,)
1 tbsp. shortening
1 qt. hot water
2 c. potatoes, diced (3 medium)
1 c. carrots, diced
1 c. celery, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1/2 c onion, diced
1 tbsp salt
2 beef bouillon cubes

Directions:
Directions:
Roll meat in flour that has had salt and pepper added to it. Brown thoroughly in hot shortening. Cover with the hot water. Simmer 2 hr. adding water if necessary. Add remaining ingredients. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 30 min. If desired, thicken liquid for gravy.
