1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 t. salt
2 c. milk
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 t. butter or margarine
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over med. heat stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil 1 min. Remove from heat. Gradually stir at least half of hot mixture into egg yolks. Then blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil 1 min. more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Pour into dessert dishes. Serve warm or cool with cream or whipped cream.

I LOVE this pudding. It has such a rich flavor. I made it a lot when I had egg yolks left over from wedding cakes.
