2 cups sugar
1 cup dark Karo syrup
1 quart whipping cream
1 or 2 cups walnuts
1 tablespoon vanilla

Mix 2 cups sugar, Karo syrup and 1 cup of the whipping cream in heavy kettle. Boil until reaching soft ball stage, 240º. Add 2 cups cream and stir while adding. Keep boiling until reaching soft ball stage, 240º, again. Add the balance of the whipping cream. Boil until reaching hard ball stage, 260º. Be able to pick up a small ball when dropped in cold water. Remove from the heat, add nuts and vanilla. Pour into 8" X 8" buttered pan. Let cool, overnight is possible. Store in refrigerator.
