1 c. shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packet
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, well beaten
2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts
1 12 oz. package chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add vanilla. Beat until light
and fluffy. Add egg and beat. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add.
Fold in nuts and chocolate bits. Chill well. Drop from spoon
onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375? for 10-12 minutes.

The difference between this recipe and the one on the
Tollhouse bag is a higher proportion of brown sugar to white.
We always thought Granny’s were best.
