1/4 pound each chopped bacon, ham cubed,hot Italian sausage sliced
2 cloves garlic
1 chopped onion
2 stocks celery
1 leek chopped
allspice
pepper

2 cups red wine
1 quart each chicken and beef stock
1 can kidney beans
1 sliced zucchini

1 large can chopped tomatoes
1-2 cups cabbage
1 cup macaroni

Directions:
Directions:
Brown bacon add ham and sausage, garlic, onion,celery, leek and seasonings. Simmer 10 minutes add rest of ingredients except tomato and macaroni. Cook 1-1/2 hours add macaroni and tomatoes and cabbage, cook until macaroni is done. Serve with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil and a dollop of sour cream

This soup recipe came from Pam Thomas years before it was included in her cookbook. I have traditionally served it for Christmas Eve for years. You can easily adjust the ingredients to serve how ever many you need to serve. Be sure to use "good" hot Italian sausage, since the sausage either makes or breaks the soup!
