1 TBSP olive oil
1 onion - finely chopped
2 cloves minced garlic
1 1/2 cups chopped portobello mushrooms
2 cups beef broth
3 TBS soy sauce
1/4 tsp thyme
1/8 tsp sage
1 TBSP corn starch
2 TBSP water
ground pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil in med pan over med heat. Add onion and garlic. Saute, stirring often until softened. Add mushrooms and cook until they start to release their juices - about 10 minutes.
Add broth, soy sauce, seasonings and simmer 10 minutes. Mix cornstarch with water in small bowl. Stir into sauce and simmer, stirring often until slightly thickened.
You can leave the mushrooms in or strain in you prefer a smooth gravy.
