2 C. Flour
2 C. quick-cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 C. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 C. margarine or butter, softened
FILLING:
6 oz. pkg (1 C.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 C. chopped nuts
12 oz. jar (1 C.) caramel ice cream topping
3 T. Flour

1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 13x9" pan. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
2. In large bowl, combine all crust ingredients at low speed until crumbly. Press 1/2 of crumb mixture, about 3 cups, in prepared pan.
3. Reserve remaining crumb mixture for topping. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes. Sprinkle warm base with chocolate chips and nuts.
4. Combine caramel topping and 3 T. flour, pour evenly over chocolate chips and nuts. sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
5. Return to oven and bake 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown; cool completely.
6. Cut into bars. (Refrigerate for easy cutting) Makes 36 bars
