6 potatoes, peeled and cut
2 leeks, cleaned and cut
2 onions, chopped
1 carrot. sliced
1 stalk of celery, sliced
4 chicken bouillon cubes
1 tbsp parsley flakes
salt & pepper to taste
1/3 cup butter
1 can evaporated milk
5 cups of water

Directions:
Put all ingredients but evaporated milk in crock pot and cook on low for 10 hours; high 3 to 4. Last hour of cooking, add the evaporated milk.

This comes from the 70s Rival crock pot cook book. When I make, I usually leave out the leeks; put in extra potatoes, carrots and celery then fill the pot up with water.
