3/4 C shortening
1 C white sugar
1 egg
4 Tbsp. molasses
2 C flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground ginger
Powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar, molasses and egg. In a separate bowl combine flour, soda, cinammon, cloves and ginger. Add shortening mixture. Mix well. Roll into walnut-size balls. Roll balls in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar
