2 cups Milk
1/2 cup Shortening
5 cups Flour
1 1/2 t. Salt
1/2 cup Sugar
2 T. Yeast
Zest of an Orange
4 Eggs, beaten
1/4 cup Orange Juice
1 1/2 cup Flour

Orange Mixture:
1/2 cup Butter (soft)
zest of Orange
1/2 cup Sugar

Glaze:
2-3 T. Orange Juice
Orange Zest
6 cups Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk and shortening to 120 using a candy thermometer. In mixer put; 5 cups flour, salt, sugar, yeast and orange zest. Mix until smooth and add melted shortening and milk, eggs and orange juice. Mix and add 1 1/2 cup flour. Knead 8-10 minutes...dough will be very sticky. Put flour on surface and knead 3-4 times. Put in greased bowl and cover to let rise until doubled. Divide in half and roll out and spread orange mixture like cinnamon rolls. Place on baking sheet and let rise until double. Bake 1 pan at a time on middle shelf 10 minutes and 365º. Place on bottom rack for 5 minutes to brown bottom. Put on a cooling rack with wax paper and glaze while still warm.

this recipe takes 3 oranges, use a jellyroll pan and do not melt the butter for frosting!
