1 lb ground beef
1 lg onion, chopped
2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
1 bay leaf
1 tsp dried basil
3/4 tsp dried oregano
1 clove garlic (minced)
2 tsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a large pan, cook ground beef and onion until meat is browned & onion is tender. Drain.

Add the remainder of ingredients to meat & onion and bring to a boil. When mixture is about to boil, reduce heat & cover & simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove the bay leaf & serve over hot cooked spaghetti or macaroni.
