3 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1tbsp water
1tsp vanilla
chocolate mint wafers/drops

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour, soda and salt. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, water and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix well.

Cover and chill for 2 hours. Roll into balls. Take a chocolate mint and put into the center of each ball. Place on cookie sheet. You can top with a walnut half if desired and bake at 350º for 8 to 10 minutes.

Mom used to make a cookie at Christmas that had a flat chocolate mint inside. You did not know this until you took a bite and found the surprise inside. I remember eating all around the edge and saving the middle for last. The mints she used are hard to find now, but Ande's mints work id you put a half one in each cookie.
