2 cups brown sugar
½ lb. butter
2 eggs
1-1/2 tsp. b. soda
½ cup warm water
4 cups sifted flour
1-1/2 tsp flour
½ cup white sugar
8 oz. chopped dates
1 cup boiling water.
Directions:
Directions:
Blend together: 2 cups brown sugar
½ lb. butter
2 eggs

Dissolve and
add to sugar 1-1/2 tsp. b. soda
mixture: ½ cup warm water

Mix in: 4 cups sifted flour

Filling:

Mix together: 1-1/2 tsp flour
½ cup white sugar

Add: 8 oz. chopped dates
Add: 1 cup boiling water.
Cook over med heat while stirring frequently, until thick. Cool.

Drop 1 Tbls. dough on cookie sheet. Indent center. Drop 1 tsp. filling into indented area. Top with 1 tsp. dough.

Bake @ 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
