1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs
3 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tea baking soda
1/2 c sour milk or buttermilk
4 mashed bananas

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Mix dry ingredients together
Add dry ingredients to cream mixture alternating with sour milk.
Add mashed bananas

Divide into two loaf pans
Bake until a toothpick comes out clean
Let cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes and flip out of pans. Continue to cool

Recipe comes from mom who passed it down from her side of the family. I have doubled and tripled this recipe with no problems. I have added chocolate chips and nuts depending on who I was serving it too or giving it away too. Favorite way to eat it is with butter or peanut butter or toast it in the toaster.
