1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 t soda
1 heaping t. baking powder
3 t crisco oil
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 t salt
enough flour to bring biscuits together

Directions:
Directions:
Roll out on floured board. Don't handle too much or use too much flour because it will make the biscuits tough. Mother didn't make big biscuits either. Roll them in a small amount of grease in the pan before baking them. 425º for about 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.

Mother had a certain knack with biscuits. There just wasn't anything like sitting down to breakfast with these biscuits and homemade jelly. (And everything else she loved to fix) What a way to start a wonderful day!!!
