1 egg
1 T milk
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup yellow corn meal
1 t salt
1/4 t paprika
1 t cayenne pepper
1 t black pepper
3 firm green or underripe tomatoes (1 1/2 lb)
vegetable oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg and flour. Combine flour, corn meal, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper and black pepper on waxed paper. Core tomatoes; cut thin slice from top and bottom of tomatoes. Cut each tomato crosswise into four slices. Dip tomato slices first into egg, then into corn meal mixture to coat. Heat 1/4" oil in large skillet until hot. Borwn tomatoes on both sides, tu;rning once, 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towel.
