2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
6 ripe bananas(mashed)
4 eggs well beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
beat sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla
mix in bananas
In separate bowl, mix flour, salt and soda
add to creamed mixture
mix in buttermilk and nuts
grease and flour 2 bread pans or 4 mini loaf pans.
Bake @ 350 for 45 minutes-1 hour.

I got this recipe from my friend Cynda Smith. I tweaked it a bit and use whole wheat flour and add a little buttermilk.
