bacon
apple
vinegar
sugar
bay leave

Directions:
Directions:
Slice cabbage thinly and wilt in large pan that has hot bacon fat in bottom. When wilted add water to cover, bay leaf and chopped up apple. Cook till water is almost evaporated. Season with vinegar, sugar and salt to taste. One might sprinkle a little flour over to absorb some juice. The vinegar and sugar must be in just the right proportion.
