2 (1 oz.) cakes yeast
1-1/3 c. warm water
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 c. hot mashed potatoes
2 eggs
6-1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Let stand 10 minutes. Cream sugar and shortening. Add to potatoes. When cool, add yeast. Add salt, eggs and flour. Mix and knead well. Let rise until double. Roll, cut, rise and fry.

Mom used to make these all the time! She'd freeze them and then put on a baking sheet & warm in the oven and sprinkle w/sugar or frost.
