1 box German chocolate cake mix w/o pudding
1-14 oz. bag caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans

Topping:
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate squares
2 T. melted butter
2 T. corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1-1/2 c. xx sugar
3 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour 1/2 batter into 9x13 pan. Bake 350 for 15 minutes. Melt caramels and butter w/evaporated milk and pour over cake. Sprinkle w/chips and nuts. Pour remaining cake batter on top and bake for 20 minutes. Cool - add topping:

To make topping: Melt chocolate squares. Mix w/melted butter, corn syrup, vanilla, xx sugar, and milk. Beat and pour over cool cake.
