2 lbs. beef falda (brisket)
4 garlic cloves minced
1/2 onions chopped
salt and pepper to taste
3 stalk of celery julienned
3 green pepper julienned
2 onions cut julienned
3 carrots julienned
1 small cabbage shredded
1 chayote (opt.) julienned
1/2 lb. green beans chopped
1 to 2 small cans salsa de hongo (mushroom sauce)
2 beef bullion
1 can mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Place beef, onion, garlic, salt and pepper in a pan and cover with water - cook until tender. Remove beef and cool. Reserve liquid. Tear meat into shreds.
In a large pan sauté the celery, pepper,carrots, cabbage, chayote, green beans, and mushrooms.
Add the shredded meat to the sautéed vegetables along with salsa de hongo and beef bullion, cooking until well mixed. To this add 2 cups of the reserved beef liquid and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
Serve over rice.

This is traditional Panamanian meat dish. Serve with rice and platanos (plantain). According to Isabel, using lots of vegetables is essential.
