1 pie crust
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp corn starch
1/2 tsp salt
2 egg yolks
3 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla

MERINGUE:
3 large egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
6 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla

FILLING:
Heat sugar and water to boiling. Add flour and cornstarch, mix in water and cook until thick. Add egg yolks slightly beaten and cook 1 minute. Remove from stove, add butter and vanilla. Pour into baked crust.

MERINGUE:
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar, 1 tbsp at a time continuing to beat mixture until stiff and glossy. Add vanilla and top filling and bake at 350º for 20 minutes.
