1 stick margarine
4 Tabs. cocoa
6 Tbs. buttermilk
1 lb. box powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla

Melt margarine, add cocoa and buttermilk. Bring to a boil, add powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly and place on cake while warm.

This frosting is for a sheet cake. You can't spread it up the sides of a layer cake. You can always substitute sour milk for buttermilk. To sour fresh milk, add approx. 1 1/2-2 t. lemon juice and stir. If it doesn't seem sour enough, add more lemon juice. I have a very tough time finding a good chocolate frosting recipe for a layer cake. Therefore, I don't make it very often.
