2 cups flour
1/2 tablespoon sugar
4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt (scant)
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg, beaten
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into bowl. But in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine eggs and milk. Add to flour mixture all at once, stirring just enough with fork to make a soft dough that sticks together. Turn on lightly floured surface and knead lightly 15 times. Roll to 3/4" thickness. Cut with floured 2" cutter and place about 1" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 425º oven 12 minutes or until golden brown on top. Best if served warm.
