1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 6-oz pkg chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla till fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Drop from teaspoon 2" apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes. Remove from pan.

This recipe doesn't make a very big batch. I usually multiply the recipe by 6. I add a 12 oz bag of chocolate chips and that seems to be enough.
