2 sticks butter (softened not melted)
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
3 cups Oats (old-fashioned, uncooked)
12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven 350º
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown.
STORAGE: cover tightly or cookies will become stale
