6 Tbsp. butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups regular oats
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped, pitted dates
3 oz. coarsely chopped bittersweet chocolate

Directions:
Directions:
Stir the sugar into the melted butter. Add the egg and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients. Fold in the dates and chocolate. Mix well and drop by teaspoonsful onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes until the tops are dry to touch.
