1/2 cup sugar
1 stick butter

2 tsp. baking powder

1 cup white flour

Directions:
Mix sugar and butter together. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill dough and roll out onto floured board to 1/2 inch thickness. Use the rim of a drinking glass to cut circles of dough, or use a cookie cutter. Put the rounds on a cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes at 400 degrees. Cut each circle in half while still warm (rather like an English muffin) and return to 250 degree oven for 1 hour, turning to brown lightly.
